When Jesus said "let the children come to me" we believe that Jesus intended for the Church to be a community where children can be welcomed, learn, and make a difference. We believe that children are not just the future of the Church today! 

WORSHIP- Children are always welcome at our worship services, and we set aside part of each service just for children. Sometimes they will be reading aloud, sometimes sitting and listening as best they can, and usually asking questions that are important to them and connect them to the readings for the day (and are frequently humorous to folks sitting in the pews). Join us for worship on a Sunday and find out for yourself.

SUNDAY SCHOOL AND FAITH FORMATION

During the 2026-2027 school year our programming for children 3 years through 5th grade takes place on Sunday mornings. Sunday School follows worship @10:00 AM. Each Sunday we begin with music and a lesson for everyone, followed by age-level classes for young children (and parents who want to join in). Our Sunday School program is led by Deb Mortensen, who has taught music in elementary schools for her entire career as a school teacher. The other teachers are usually parents, many of whom are also school teachers. Classes are divided into age appropriate groups for lessons.

If a student is unable to be with us each Sunday, don't worry, we understand that weekends can get really packed. At the beginning of the Fall, Winter, and Spring seasons, we make lessons available for all families to take home. The lessons come from Augsburg Fortress Press "Spark" lessons. Augsburg Fortress has been putting out strong Biblical lessons for young children for many decades and invites children to integrate faith into their daily lives. They invite families to live compassionately and generously in their relationships, walking as best they can in the "footsteps" of Jesus.
